The BJJ team is now back from the NAGA US Nationals held in Georgia. This event has huge and the divisions were stacked. Nobody had small divisions; including the juniors. There was some really good competition and LDMA had an outstanding performance.
Victor took 1st (no-gi) & 1st (gi)
Adam took 3rd (no-gi) & 2nd (gi)
Robert took 3rd (no-gi) & 3rd (gi)
Hayworth took 3rd (no-gi) & 3rd (gi)
Deven took 4th (no-gi) & 4th (gi)
*Deven had some EXTREMELY hard matches. I am opposed to neck-cranks and believe they are used because a grappler does not have the ability to effectively perform a choke. Why not simply allow thumbs in the eye? Regardless, those were the rules and we accepted them. Deven suffered a hard neck crank in the first round and took a big dose of "suck-it-up" to fight the rest of the day. His division had 7-8 people in it and he did well. It was good experience for him and proud he didn't let the pain stop him from competing.
It was another good weekend for the team. Of course, there are some more stories to come back from the weekend's festivities. We will leave those for "lobby" discussions. Overall, we had a blast. Thanks goes to Cowboy for coming to support the team even though he was injured. Extra support is always appreciated when it comes to competition.
The past three weeks have been hectic but worth it to see our teams (TKD, BJJ, & KB) show good representation all over the East Coast. We finally have an event in town this weekend. Remember that TeamROC & Revolution will be here for BJJ open mat on Saturday.
Look for pictures from events to be posted on the web page soon.
