It was about time we actually had some snow. I think this was the best kind; enough for kids to play then go away quickly. Of course, I would eat some nasty food which made me sick the entire time.
I hope everyone is ready to jump back in to training. There are so many exciting things happening at the school and our calendar is packed. This weekend is the Arnolds where we have Kickbox and BJJ competitors attending. Hopefully ther won't be any snow up there for us. Amazing they schedule the UFC the same weekend up there, so we are certain to have a blast in addition to good competition.
The TaeKwonDo students are looking great in preparation for their event in two weeks. The Knoxville tournament is always fun and look forward to that weekend as well.
Many students have inquired about training workouts to do at the gym. I am going to talk to Doc and see if he will help me post some on the website inside student accounts. We are fortunate to have someone like Doc with his education in Exercise & Sport Science. You will not find anyone in the area more qualified than him to help you with physical fitness. His "PhD" trumps any certification a fitness trainer may have.
I am also excited to have Dan on our Kickbox team. He is one of the Athletic Trainers at HPU and has great insight on training as well. Dan gave me some really good information on hydration during training; save your money on Gatorade. I'll explain more in classes.
I'm looking forward to a good week of training and hope we'll see everyone on the mat working hard.
