Had a great trip to Little Rock last weekend for the Arkansas Brazilian JiuJitsu Federation's tournament. It was a large event that ran smooth; better than some other BJJ tournaments. Flew in early Friday; got in some training; helped set up for tournament; got in some more training; went to bed real late (thanks to Kaleb); woke up early to start tournament; judged all day; cleaned up; watched UFC; than came home next day. Yes, the time clocked ticked hard for me. Of course I have some cool new stuff for classes!
Classes are doing great as always. Many new students coming in which is great to see new training partners. Existing students are training hard and growing.
The schedule here stays packed for events outside of class. We have something going on every single week & weekend for the next several months. This is awesome and exciting for the school. This lets everone know we have more than just regular training classes happening at LDMA. Between camps, seminars, special guest, clinics, etc. things are really moving along.
I hope everyone has taken the time to read my article in Sport Junkie magazine. The article outlines facts on MMA in the area. There are so many schools claiming to teach Mixed Martial Arts but lack real knowledge. I have started to notice people from other schools starting to drive up and peek in the windows (on the back side) to watch what we are doing in class. Guess YouTube isn't providing enough information. They will now be able to save some gas becuase Sport Junkie has asked us to write-up a BJJ Technique of the Month for their magazine.
We have fighters and BJJ guys getting ready for competitions. Be sure to push these teammates in class so they will have good representation.
I am now caught up and can finally text message through my phone. However, I am not up on the text language; still takes me a while to send a message. One thing is for certain....I will not use text language to write my blog :)
